Frequently Asked Questions

HOW MUCH DOES COUNSELING COST?

Christian counseling rates per session typically range from $100-$200.  It is hard to put a price on the spiritual and emotional benefits that often result from investing in counseling.  Frankly, counseling is expensive because it is extremely valuable. Rather than charging standard fees, our ministry asks you to commit to a suggested donation amount in return for the counseling service provided. Grace and Truth Project is a nonprofit organization 501(c)(3) and accepts donations. Please consider donating here.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

No, we offer biblical counseling and do not participate directly with health insurance for our discipleship counseling service. Most insurance companies require a diagnosis from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, and we don't do that at Grace + Truth Project.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?

WHAT IS BIBLICAL COUNSELING?

Biblical counselors in Texas are exempt from the Licensed Professional Counselor Act under Section 503.056 of the Texas Occupation Code, if they are employed or volunteer as a counselor with a public or private non-profit organization or charity, remain accountable to their sponsoring organization, and do not hold themselves out to be a counselor licensed by the Texas Board of Professional Counselors.  Our counselors are not state licensed professional counselors (LPC).  This is Bible-based, spiritual counseling and not the practice of psychology, state-licensed professional counseling, psychotherapy or a state-licensed marriage and family therapy or social work. All of our counselors are Board Certified Christian Counselors through the National Association of Christian Counselors. The counseling philosophy and approach provided is Jesus-centered.  Grace + Truth Project is a ministry that offers biblical Christian counseling, hope, and practical help.

WHAT IF I AM NOT A CHRISTIAN?

Everyone is welcome at Grace + Truth Project! We do not deny anyone access due to race, gender, ethnicity, or religion. All of our counselors are Christian and provide counsel from a biblical perspective.
